CAD to Campaign: A Strategic Approach to Product Visualization
Slice Engineering required high-quality marketing materials to showcase their Mosquito® Hotend product, but traditional methods were costly and inflexible.

Our discovery meeting with Peyton Shelton, the Marketing and Brand Manager at Slice Engineering revealed that they had robust marketing materials as well as a modern aesthetic, however they needed some additional media to fully showcase the features of the Mosquito® Hotend. While traditional methods could capture the necessary footage, the process would be both costly and inflexible. Consequently, 3D rendering emerged as the optimal solution.
Discovery
To protect intellectual property, we established mutual non-disclosure agreements before starting the project.
Slice Engineering then provided reference images, videos, and a simplified CAD model of the Mosquito® Hotend.
Planning
Our team then went about creating a Digital Version of the hot-end making sure to capture all the minute details that makes the Mosquito® Hotend unique.
Creation
Subsequently, a rigorous review process was undertaken, making sure to implement any changes Peyton deemed necessary. The outcome was a highly realistic digital replica of the Mosquito® Hotend.
Refinement
Upon model and texture approval, the storyboarding process began. In collaboration with Peyton, we determined the necessary footage list for their media library and initiated Scene Creation and Animation.
Storyboarding
The flexibility of 3D rendering allowed us to precisely capture all footage required by Slice Engineering. These were then meticulously adjusted to meet their exact specifications.
Animation
At the client's request, we collaboratively edited a comprehensive product showcase utilizing the B-roll footage.
The final product was an engaging video accompanied by additional B-roll footage, providing Slice Engineering with versatile assets for future marketing campaigns. The B-roll effectively showcased the product's unique features, empowering them to create compelling content.
